The Gift

“Now that Christmas will soon be here,
I know you’ll like this gift, my dear.
Specially designed just for you
Feel free to share with your true loves too

I know for certain that’s not me
You sneak around, don’t think I see?
That little hussy at the store
That blonde bimbo by the shore

I see them looking at your crotch
As they ask if you have a watch
I know they want a piece of your time
To make the most of what once was mine

So by all means, enjoy this gift
It’ll sever our widening rift
Don’t forget to show your new loves”
In his hands, this gift she shoves

She drives away, full speed ahead
Her heart now lifted, no longer led
She knows she’s seen the last of him
And his hussies, Jane and Kim

He watches as she drives away
Completely stunned, nothing to say
He looks down at this last gift
With tears welled, he sniffed.

He sits down, undoes the bow.
Contemplating.. how did she know?!?
I was careful every time
And sneaking around is NOT a crime!

Rips off the paper, opens the box
Inside he finds, long red locks
From years past, he recognised her hair
Back when she was his first snare

Next to the hair, a simple note
“I told,” it read, “about the boat”
“Where you keep your hidden stash,
of guns and drugs… but don’t dash”

He sat down, his face grey
“Cops there now, but on their way.
You’ll see them soon, but don’t fret
Those two girls you met?

“They’re on the boat with your drugs
An invite from you, with love and hugs
They’ll be locked up pretty soon
They’re lives, like yours, now in ruin

Have fun, my love, enjoy your life
From your ex lover, ne’er to be ex-wife.”
As he drops the letter and runs to the door
Cops approach in groups of four.
