Clever puss

Every day that I’ve been home, I’ve bribed all my cats to go out to the garage so I can have a quiet day in the house.  The cats have grown used to this routine so that I have no need to bribe them anymore.

One of my newest goals is to clean the garage for an hour before sending the cats out just so they have something new to look at.

This morning, after sweeping up the floor, I switched litter boxes.  I had a massive tray up on a table and a smaller tray down on the ground for my partly disabled puss, Flick.  But she tends to be messy with the litter and splash it everywhere, so today I decided to switch trays.  Put the bigger tray on the ground and the smaller tray up on the table.

After moving some more things around, I started to feel excited about the cats’ reactions.  So I told myself, “don’t get too excited.  Cats are indifferent and won’t notice or care about the changes you’ve made.”

When the time was up, as it was NYE, I decided to put an extra bowl of food out there as an added treat before letting the cats out.

Misty noticed the clean floors
Goldie noticed the bigger tray on the ground, and straight away she looked behind her up at the table as if thinking, “if that’s there, then where’s the…. oh I see it”

As to Flick and T.C, they didn’t seem to notice any of the changes but I’m guessing that when Flick needed to relieve herself, she would have noticed the bigger tray and hopefully there’ll be less litter splashed out.
