Electric Wheelchairs

So I sit down in it, hmmm comfy… and as I start to use the controls, the seat leans back.  What the hell?!?

I jumped up out of the seat.  I don’t think it likes me, I think it must think I’m too heavy and wanted to throw me off.

That’s fine, I could use the exercise.  Steering is a breeze, so I walked the long driveway (long for me, takes everyone else 2 minutes to cover, takes me 10 minutes) to the street so the scooter guy didn’t have to come in this labyrinth again with his oversized van (he’d already tackled it once to drop off my newly repaired mobility scooter).

He was truly grateful that one, I contacted him to let him know he left it behind and two, that he didn’t have to drive in to retrieve it.  When I told him I don’t think it likes me, he says that’s normal.  This model has 6 wheels and in built suspension, it was probably balancing itself out for me.

“So it would not have tossed me then?”

“No, of course not!  It’s very safe!”

I guess electric wheelchairs, like one’s first time on a mobility scooter (and even that was a terrifying experience for me over a decade ago), just takes some getting used to.

So I did my good deed for today, which was also my exercise for today.  I’m buggered, out of breath walking from my place to the street and back, I’m seriously out of shape.  Need to take the furkids to the park more so I can walk more and try to get back into shape.. as best I can anyway.  Now that “Ladybug” has arrived back after a costly service, I finally can take the girls to the park again ❤
