Hope

With all the politics askew
The U.S and North Korea in a big blue
A chance they’ll bring this world to an end
With both hoping their bombs can mend
But then there’s hope

With many animals at risk
Their lives taken at a whisk
First endangered, soon extinct
Mostly humans, the culprits, have been linked
But then there’s hope

Billionaires cannot see
People living in poverty
With lack of money, their lives oppressed
And yet many still think they’re blessed
Because of hope

Hope that the sun will rise tomorrow
And take away all their sorrow

Hope that every new birth will bring
Fresh eyes on the world, all hearts sing

Hope that politics are all bark no bite
And one day they may see the light

Hope that hunters will see the error in their ways
And let innocent animals live out their days

Hope that humankind will grow up soon
Before modernity bursts like a balloon

As long as we can stand back and see the full scope

There’ll always be hope.
