Playfully Young

How I remember times way back when

The places I went and the things I did

Oh, to live those times all over again

The freedom of youth and being a kid

With my family, I traveled lots

All through the outback and everywhere

We would stop at heaps of picnic spots

In random places here and there

We’d visit farms and small town pubs

Milk cows and goats and harvest trees

We’d pet farm dogs and give them rubs

And enjoy honeycomb fresh from bees

In the city, I’d go to Luna park and the zoo

Or be at the movies or hang out at a pool

Or play video games with tokens so new

Life in the seventies was pretty cool

How I remember times way back then

The places I went and the things I did

Oh, to live those times all over again

The freedom of youth and being a kid

This was written in response to the #NovemberNotes challenge.

Today’s inspiration was “All the pretty girls” by Kaleo.

[This was a tough one, after listening to the song and studying the lyrics, it was hard to find inspiration as the chorus threw me.  So I watched the clip and saw the song was about summer time and youth, and the freedom of youth, and THAT’S what inspired me to write this poem]
