Adoption

The moment I laid my eyes upon you

I knew that this was definitely my cue

You had already entered my heart

I vowed then, we’d never be apart

We haven’t met yet, and you don’t know me

But I’ll be your new mum and you will see

You’ll become my child, a part of my soul

You’ll become my family, this is my goal

You’re in a cage now, scared and alone

Where you’ve come from, history unknown

Has someone dumped you? Have you run away?

Have you been abused? Only you can say

But there lies the problem for we can’t hear

Your body language only shows us fear

Comfort and love are all you ask

I promise you I’ll take on that task

Where ever you’ve been, it doesn’t matter anyhow

Welcome to your new life, you’ll be with me now.
